Acceptance
By accessing the websites or public reference endpoint, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use those services. These terms apply to the hosted services; the Apache License 2.0 separately governs licensed source code, specification text, schemas, examples, tests, and documentation.
Draft and reference status
Dealer Agent Protocol version 0.1 is an editor’s draft, not a ratified industry standard, certification, legal opinion, or promise of compatibility. Dealer Agent Gateway is reference software implementing that draft. The public endpoint uses synthetic data and is provided for evaluation, education, conformance work, and interoperability testing—not production dealer traffic or consumer transactions.
Open-source license
Unless a file states otherwise, project materials are licensed under the Apache License 2.0. If these terms conflict with that license for licensed materials, the Apache License controls. The license does not grant permission to imply endorsement or certification.
Acceptable use
You may browse, test, and implement against the public materials. You may not interfere with service operation, bypass access controls or rate limits, probe for unrelated data, introduce malicious payloads, falsely claim certification, violate law, or use the services to harm others. Do not submit credentials, personal information, confidential dealer information, production vehicle records, or data you lack authority to use.
Contributions
Contributions are governed by the Contribution Guide. By submitting a contribution, you represent that you have the right to submit it and agree that it is licensed under the repository’s Apache License 2.0.
Availability and changes
The maintainers may change, suspend, rate-limit, or discontinue any hosted service or draft artifact at any time. Versioned published schemas follow the project’s stated compatibility and governance rules, but no uptime, support, response-time, or maintenance commitment is offered.
Third-party services and links
The sites link to and depend on services operated by Cloudflare, Google, GitHub, and others. Those services are governed by their own terms and policies. The project is not responsible for third-party content or availability.
No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the websites, endpoint, specifications, software, and content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, availability, or error-free operation. Verify inventory, availability, pricing, incentives, legal disclosures, and transaction facts with the appropriate authoritative source.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the creator, maintainers, and contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or reliance damages arising from use of or inability to use the services or materials. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Project identity
Dealer Agent Protocol and Dealer Agent Gateway were created by Ariel Coro and are developed with public contributors. The project names and visual identity identify the project; no right is granted to claim sponsorship, endorsement, conformance, or certification.
Dealer pilot applications
Submitting an application does not guarantee selection, implementation, certification, exclusivity, or commercial terms. Applicants represent that they are authorized to provide the submitted business contact information and to discuss a possible dealership pilot. Any selected pilot will require separate agreement on scope, responsibilities, data handling, access, timing, and any commercial terms before production dealer data is connected.
Changes and contact
Updated terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Questions may be raised through the public issue tracker without including confidential information.
These terms reflect the current noncommercial, synthetic-reference project. Qualified counsel should review them before the project adds commercial services, accounts, production dealer data, or consumer-facing transactions.
