Used Vehicle Retail Profile · 0.1

A used car is not just a VIN and a price.

Mileage, days in inventory, history reports, title, inspection, certification, warranty, and reconditioning all affect the retail answer. The protocol makes every one traceable.

One unit. Five kinds of evidence.

“47 days” is incomplete. The protocol shows which clock is running.

  • 01Stocked

When the dealer accepted the unit into owned or consigned retail inventory.

  • 02First listed

When the unit first appeared in a public retail listing. This can be later than stocked.

  • 03Age basis

Which event produced the reported age—or whether a source supplied only days in stock.

  • 04As of

The timestamp against which complete elapsed days were calculated.

A statement an agent can defend: “This vehicle has been in dealer inventory for 47 complete days as of September 1, based on the dealer inventory system.”

CARFAX and AutoCheck can disagree. The agent is not allowed to hide that.
